I had a great time being a part of the recording for the new double album released from bassist and composer Tom Casale No Bad Parts II entitled Earth & Sky. The release is a stellar sonic journey through the pieces composed by Tom dedicated to the natural world, as well as some special arrangements of some jazz classics from Monk and Ellington.
The group includes:
Todd Brunel - clarinet and bass clarinet
John McKenna - tenor saxophone, flute, Resonant Structure sound sculptures,
and Eurorack modular synthesizers
Jim Robitaille - electric guitar
David Brown - didgeridoo, bird calls, percussion, and field recordings
Tom Casale - upright bass
Jim Nordhill - drum set and percussion
Tom White - spoken introduction (disc one - track two)
Recorded by Steve Rizzo at Stable Sound Studios.
This band has performed several album release concerts, and I am sure will continue performing in the future.
You can check out the release here in both CD & digital editions.
